Vertigo

The role of Madeleine/Judy in the movie is very interesting to me. Judy is supposed to play the role of "Madeleine" but she unexpectedly falls in love with Scottie. At 01:13:36, when they are at the stable, "Madeleine" is sitting with her back facing the dark and her face facing the light. She is looking at the clear blue sky as hoping for a release from the role she has been playing. She is also waiting for something, like a time to come. Then Scottie comes next to her and kisses her, she says that she loves him too. Then she turns away looking at the sky and says "but it is too late", she must to do something. Then she runs to the bell tower to pretend that Madeleine has committed suicide. At 01:35:31, when Judy shows Scottie her driver license, she tries to emphasize her name and identities because she is playing the role of Madeleine for too long and now she wants to be herself, to live her own life and to face her love. In the last scene, when Judy pleases Scottie for forgiveness, they kiss and she turns to look at the dark sky and also say that "it's too late". She also commits suicide after that because she thinks it's time for her to pay what she did.
Also, I realize that the green light plays an important role in this movie as an indication of illusion. At 01:43:57, when Scottie tells Judy that he wants to take care of her, Judy's face is in the dark with the green light behind her because at this moment, Scottie thinks of Judy as Madeleine. The same illusion appears at 01:55:14, when Judy just steps out from the bathroom dressing like Madeleine. Scottie one more time thinks of Judy as Madeleine.
